Wow! What a powerful short story. The beginning reminds me of my own difficulties with post-partum depression. But how sad that she slips further away and it happens so quickly due to the imposed isolation treatment plan.
The stories remind us of the deep roots of the patriarchal society that while it has shifted often seem to easy to forget. The stories seem dated, which is a good thing, but the cry for autonomy and independence still feels timely and relevant.
