A retelling of Alice in Wonderland. Alyss Heart is princess of Wonderland when the red Queen seizes control of the throne and Alyss ends up in England where she inspires the book Alice in Wonderland. This is a young adult book but I found that the book skipped over a lot of stuff which would have made it more interesting and I never really cared much about any of the characters.

Aspects of good fantasy writing:
- Well-rounded three-dimensional characters with noticeable arcs of development and purpose within a story.
- Worldbuilding that plays on old tropes while showing a degree of imagination, rather than throwing a whole bunch of fairy tale stuff into a kitchen sink.
- Showing and not telling your characters' emotions and motivations.
- Determining which parts of your story are important and which parts can be shortened easily.
