Lisa of Hopewell
He writes very well, but it was difficult to remember that beginning and end were related. The story never really grabbed me. Non-linear story telling is all the rage, but this one vaulted decades ahead, then jumped back a few years so often that I had to stop and sort it out. probably this would not be quite as difficult if you were reading the book. I listened to the audio.

I am not sure why Gerald took so darn long to take action against Lulu!! Lulu's character does not inspire sympathy on any level. I am not sure why I persevered to the end of this book. The reverse timeline is confusing and not well connected, the characters are self-serving and more than a little bit spoiled. Not like Nichols' other work which I have enjoyed very much (One Day is one of my favorite books, heartbreaking as it is). ...more
