I did not give this 5 stars because it was an enjoyable read, but because it is a book that needs to be read by everyone. There is so much information in this book that explains the differences in cultures between the Middle East, specifically Afghanistan, and the rest of the world. The plight of women in this culture is horrific. Unfortunately the world view that men have for women is that of several millennia ago, and it doesn't show any signs of improving.
