I know that this story was supposed to be set in the 1940's but I felt as if it were the 1800's. I did not like this book at all. I am not sure why I used good reading time to finish either. I rarely put a book down once begun hoping to find something redeeming. I had read Water for Elephants and I remember enjoying that story. I must confess that I do not like romance books as a general rule. The women are too helpless and then head over heels for the knight in shining armor. ick. The character ...more

Engrossing and a quick page turner as the plot unfolds around the close of World War II in Scotland and a search for the Loch Ness Monster. However I found the plot too predictable and neatly tied up at the end. A cozy and quick read but I would have liked a bit more character and plot development.
