This short little book popped up in my daily Kindle Specials email. What a sweet little story about a Polish girl in Connecticut who gets bullied and made fun of because of her name. My 3rd grader read this one to me. It is an excellent book that every young girl should read.

This book is so simple but beautiful. Discussing about bullying and racism in a very subtle way that would really good for kids. I'm not surprised this book got a Newbery and became a classic. And the illustration is beautiful too :)

This book made me sad, but I was touched by the power of forgiveness. I could definitely see this situation happening currently among kids today - and it just makes me wish there were a solution once and for all to bullying.
