I suppose the greatest question one can ask after finishing the first of a trilogy, is do i want to read the others? and the answer in the case of 'They Were Counted is a resounding yes! To any fan of Bourgeois central european writing, This really is a must read. it has everything one would want, incredibly rich luxurious writing, a raft of interesting, lovable and grotesque characters, beautiful locations, dashing gentlemen and sensual ladies.
