This was a very nice portrait of one of America's top cultural icons, Saturday Night Live. I have always been a fairweather fan of SNL, but that was enough for this book to keep me interested. The authors interview countless cast members, hosts, and writers and throw their paragraph or page-long blurbs into the book to make a mish-mash quilt of semi-related quotations directly from the people who make up the show. I have only vague memories of watching this show probably because I tend to go to bed much earlier. I did find the history of the show was very interesting and the few characters I remembered great to recall. /it took me a while to read this one not because of its length but because I was drawn into the many facets of the production.
