I like a good farce, and with a title like this, you can be assured that a farce is what's you're getting. This slim bestseller from France features the titular fakir, who has scammed enough money from his relatives and neighbors to travel from his village in Rajasthan to Paris. Actually it was the title which made me buy the book. And it's about a road trip. Yay!

I liked the book, it's a nice, light read. Perfect to read when you are traveling. For my taste it was too short and too light. It's funny and strange - but not enough. There is so much potential to make more out of it.

The main character is very unique, I wish I could read more about him.

All in all, I can recommend the book!
