What an unusual and intriguing book! It is the story of a young woman who finds who life turned upside-down, and in addition to her personal crises, she is given a 4-year-old of her pregnant, injured friend to care for. She doesn't think she can be very good with children, yet she takes great care of hearing-impaired, nearly blind Tumi. I didn't like the first-person narrator. Also, the book is trying to be humorous in ways that I didn't think was funny.
