I first read this book a long time ago, when it first came out. I don't remember where I saw it or why I picked it up, but I remember reading it and loving it.

I read it again in April of 2001 for my amazing online reading group, bookgrouplist, and this time I was able to read it and hear the thoughts of many wise people about the book.

If it is rare that I read a book largely on science, then finishing two such in a month is rarer still. This is another of the amazing books assigned in the Amblesideonline homeschool curriculum and one of the first I’ve finished from my Self-Assigned Reading from that curriculum.
