Joe Gunther is a police lieutenant in Brattleboro, Vermont. He's called to the scene of a man murdered trying to break into a woman's house. He soon realizes the two were both jurors on a murder case three years ago and they were set up by a mysterious man wearing a ski mask who seems to be trying to get the case reopened. Definitely has that debut feel where you can tell that the author is stuffed full of ideas but lacks a bit of the experience/editorial eye that gives the perspective to know when it's too much. That said, it's easy to see why Mayor's been at it for so long since there's clearly some significant talent here. ...more
