Definitely compelling and multiple POV was used to good effect. Will try out his Cold War books to see if they grab me more.
I don't really like spy novels but this one was well told and deserves all its accolades.

Steinhauer opens this one with such a jolt that it's essentially impossible for the book to rise to that same level of energy again, but the weaving dance of misdirection and limited viewpoints makes for a rich modern espionage tale. Sophie in particular is more than she seems in the beginning, so stick around even if she doesn't catch your fancy at first.
