I enjoyed this one, because I’m so glad the main characters are back in Mitford. There are a few new characters and some excitement brewing in different families.

Reading this series with my sister, which is always fun. Not one of my very favorites of the series but a solid volume.

Stick with it--this becomes really good. I do wish she'd not rehash so much of the past. A "Cast of Characters" in the front of the book would be better--the series is too long to keep making a 1/4 of each book an explanation of who each character is and how Timothy knows him/her. This made getting into the story longer than normal. In spite of that, it turns into a great read for fans of the series. I did not like how the reader of the audio version voiced Puny--he made her so dumb! I read all ...more

I really loved this book in the Mitford Years series; I did the audiobook and have to say that I think its narrator is superb--one of the best around. He does such an excellent job with the various voices, really giving one a sense of the different characters' personalities. ...more
