This book was both funny (in a very catty sort of way), but also incredibly moving and about such a serious issue. I was completely immersed in the experience of listening to it, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Although I am more of a historical fiction reader, this contemporary really captured my attention and my heart.

I don't give many 5 stars, and I usually skip those why write 5-star reviews.
The thing I liked the best about this book was its humor. I don't think I ever laughed as loud or as much in any other book I've read, not even Richard Russo’s books. I split a gut when a group of little five-year-old boys were compared to a police line up. And we can’t forget that to be on the PTA, you have to have your hair bobbed and your child has to have a slight nut allergy. Priceless. Her humor is introspective, ...more

My book club chose this book, and I was glad to read another Liane Moriarty novel. Both my husband and I had enjoyed The Husband's Secret.
While I liked her style of writing, I was a bit skeptical whether this one would hold up. Boy did it! While I can't get into some of the mom drama, I found the book at times entertaining, at times, funny, and suddenly all too real and frightening.
