I totally love this book and wish Ove was my neighbor. Ove is a man living on his own after his wife's death. He comes off rather curmudgeonly at the beginning of the book but the gruff exterior is hiding a man who was absolutely devoted to his wife and to working hard and doing the right thing. What a cast of characters--led by the curmudgeonly central character of Ove. Oh, he's a character all right, and he's got his foibles and set patterns that you'd best not run contrary to. His new foreign neighbors, though, as well as some of the others living in his developing row house area, just don't seem to follow all the rules. They're always poking their noses into place they ought not. Such a sweet & sad backstory that unfolds of Ove's life; and surprises and laughs all the way through. R

This is a great book about a crotchety old man who has lost his purpose in life. He spends him time trying to make everyone follow the HOA rules. He also attempts suicide. His wife had died and now he feels ready to join her.

I love this book! It's so funny, makes me think of my grumpy grandfather. It makes me cry, both tears of sadness and of joy.
