For some reason the "Brenner" series from Austria is becoming available in English out of sequence. I previously enjoyed the chronological seventh (Brenner and God), I couldn't help but feel like there was quite a lot of backstory I was missing. This one is the third in the series, and fills in some of it -- although I had the continual niggling feeling that there were more hidden depths to the character I wasn't getting.
