I am always surprised at popular opinion.
It is often apparent that some books are NOT read all the way(can you tell?) .
This book is glaringly racist.
I cannot in all conscience quote the passages. I blush to even re read them.
It would show complicity with the author and I definitely am not complicit. UGH.
Yes we have to consider the era in which said books are written. And, it is considered satire(but many excellent writers such as Nancy Mitford, EF Benson and the like, did not descend to Maca ...more
