I serendipitously chose to pick up a story of music and acceptance. It's like the universe **knows**
"How we can all fight really hard, but how we can also acknowledge defeat and stop fighting and call a spade a spade. I asked her what we do when a spade isn’t a spade and she told me that sometimes there are things like that in life, spades that aren’t spades, and that we can leave them that way.

The writing is very good.
The subject matter depressing.
I found the story not worth telling, which probably makes me heartless since I think there’s a semi-autobiographical tie to the author’s sister.

I wasn't terribly impressed. I was excited to read this, because it was about a pianist. Turned out music had a very minor part of the book. It was just so sad and depressing.
