What Members Thought
A lyrical and beautifully written tapestry of a group of seemingly disparate people in New York City, on the days surrounding high wire artist Philippe Petit's (unnamed in the book) walk on a wire between the World Trade Towers in August 1974. Although lovely and poignant in parts, I felt the story lacked an overarching weight--I'm more a fan of a good meaty story, as opposed to strung-together vignettes.

I love this book. It's full of beautiful sentences, it captured the heart of New York City and its colorful sparks. The 1970s setting is also perfect for this book, and the twelve narrators are easy to be loved. Thanks Colum McCann for making me started 2014 in such wonderful feeling :)

I really enjoyed this book. Sometimes when I read a really beautiful book, I feel pressured to write a really beautiful review. I don't think anything I'd write would do the book justice, so you should just read the book.
