This is the first in the series about an Amish Quilt shop in a small Amish town. The mystery is well written and quite a surprise. What I think I enjoyed most was the representation of tension between some of the Amish in town and the English. Rather than representing it as a totally amicable situation Alan does a wonder job of highlighting some of the reluctance to have English come into their traditional Amish community. Angie Braddock inherits her aunts quilt shop in an Amish community and decides to move to Ohio to run it after breaking up with her fiance. When the Amish man who owns the woodworking store next door is found murdered in her shop Angie thinks she's the prime suspect and she decides to investigate the crime herself.
