I was very excited to win this from Goodreads as a give-away and the bonus was that it was a continuation of one of my all time favorites, Pride and Prejudice. Yay for lovely gifts.

The beginning is fairly exciting with a murder mystery to start the day (or rather night). Elizabeth, Darcy, the Bingleys and others are all there in full form. Set 6 years after the end of Pride and Prejudice. Elizabeth and Darcy are preparing for their annual ball when Lydia unexpectedly shows up and states that she is afraid Wickham has been killed in the Pemberly woods. Instead it turns out that Captain Denny has been murdered. P.D. James does a good job in following Jane Austens literary style. Shelves: couldn-t-stand-it-so-gave-up

What a snooze.....don't know if I'll even finish it. Lots of my pet peeve in historical novels--stilted conversation to explain things readers familiar with the time period already know.

Disappointing....took almost to disc 3 to get to the "death" part. Lots of review........

Maybe it is because I had high expectations, but I thought it could have been better. There seemed to be very little interaction between Mr. Darcy and Lizzy until the very end, and the mystery element was a bit weak.
