Finally a librarian story in which the author has thought to consult actual librarians! This book is delightful!! If you enjoy Robert Dalby's "Piggly Wiggly" series or other such series you will certainly enjoy this!! I read over 90 pages in one sitting! Ashton Lee gives voice to real characters facing a real community problem--funding of public libraries--with grace, humor, creativity and fun! This wonderful book encompasses all that is happening to our valuable public libraries today, but puts it into a wonderful, small-town setting with great characters, and (view spoiler). The cover art is also great, and the book very enticing. The story embodies the caring and friendship of truly good people and how that can make a difference to our towns. ...more
