2.5 Stars

For me this series felt like the more of it I read the more steam it lost so to say. Not that I didn't enjoy it because I did. I read the first one in one sitting and was an instant 5 star read, the second was a 4 star read, the novella was a disappointment at 2 stars then this, while better wasn't the best.

I just felt like after everything that went down in the series including this, the concluding book the ending felt a little too easy come by and rushed.

Despite my disappointment in t

Laini Taylor writes beautifully, and I enjoyed this trilogy, but I felt like this third book was too long. This may sound strange, but I think her beautiful descriptive prose took away from the story. Too much of a good thing.

I LOVED this book. I LOVED this series!

Late last night, when I was in the home stretch of this book, I had this whole outline of a book review written in my head. I should have written it down then! Because now? mind = blank.

Things I liked: That's hard to articulate. A lot harder than the things I didn't like, but yet it's so much more important. Because I LOVED THIS BOOK. So often I read that a book is epic and sweeping and funny and touching and a timeless love story and beautifully written a

Taylor treads a thin line between heady, poetic prose and gritty modern-day speak, and this is both her strength and her weakness. When she is careful, inspired, she crafts creations such as Zuzana, a funny human being caught in the web of fantasy-war, who responds just as you imagine your, well, coolest self would. When she gives in to her own technique, there are jarring lines like these: '...xxx, who had been the answer. The key that fit the look. And also, just a really cool chick.'

I will never find the right words to say how I feel about this trilogy.

It is amazing.

This unique style of writing and telling a story. You can never guess what will happen next, and you will be surprised by every story development- because it's so full of emotions, heartbreak, drama, love or happiness. You will find all of it in this series.

The characters. Ah yes. OTP Karou and Akiva! <3

I don't say it often, but I wish that there will never be a film, series or whatever. The books are perfec

Eh. Started stronger than it finished.

The author has an unrivalled imagination, but the writing gets in the way at times. This was a longish book, and I admit to losing my way in parts; becoming disorientated in person, place and time more than once. Who were all these critters? To be fair, it does all come together at the end.

Really good, really original trilogy. Extra impressed because I'm pretty sure it's hard to do a story about *angels* that turns out good and original. Debated between four and three stars on this one, but went for three only because it seemed longer than it actually needed to be. ...more
