A collection of nine short stories by Maurice Leblanc which introduced Arsène Lupin, gentleman thief and master of disguise. Leblanc was apparently asked by the newspaper he worked for to create a French version of Sherlock Holmes.

This book is a collection of 13 short stories. All the stories are about Arsene Lupin a renowned thief. The first three stories are connected and concern Lupin being arrested and how he escapes jail. The stories are picked as "the best of Lupin" as judged by the editor. There are also footnotes scattered throughout each story that you have to go to the back of the book to read, which I found annoying. After playing Persona 5, I was curious to see exactly who Arsène Lupin was. I really enjoyed the book, and laughed aloud when I read a comment about Holmlock Shears.
