What Members Thought
The good part of this Victorian era novel is the ambiance -- a creepy, cursed castle, lots of strange characters, hidden passages and evil bad guys. There is a sympathetic heroine, the discovery of lost journals and letters -- all the things that make a good gothic, gothic. The down-side was a very, very confusing plot. Maybe it was my fault, I couldn't seem to stay focused on the story and found myself having to go back over and over and over to re-read what I just read. Plus I never got a sens
