The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey

Cassie is a sixteen year old surviving on her own after aliens have attacked Earth. Later the book switches to other characters also affected by the waves of attacks from the aliens. I thought the book started good but then it got bogged down and didn't go much of anywhere during the middle portion. I thought the idea of an alien attack was creepy but I didn't like any of the main characters. I won't bother reading the rest of the trilogy.

Omg, this book is fascinating! And it's not the usual dystopian scheme. I like the ironic, dry Cassie and her sweet brother. Also the ... Eh.. Other persons were realistic and you feel with them instantly. The plot is very surprising and unforeseeable (is that even a word?). I am so happy that I already ordered the second book of the series!! Need more!

My two star rating is really a factor of me not liking sci-fi rather than being an indictment of the book itself. I think it's actually a pretty good book for the right reader.

Saw the movie first. But wanted to check out the book too.
Interesting enough that I will give the sequel a chance as well.
