This was very interesting, not just as an account of one of the first scientific detective investigations, but as a record of daily life in 1407. The beginning descriptions of the gibbet and Mountfaucon were incredible. There are many stories that came out of that time, that could have used these facts to make the story more interesting. This factual account of the investigation into the death of Louis of Orleans, the Regent who made most of the decisions during the reign of the mad King Charles
