Five stars specifically for Ursula K. Le Guin's "rendition" (not "translation", she says) of 道德經 (Dàodé Jīng) by 老子 (Lăozǐ). In her introduction, she explains her long relationship with this text, originating from the copy she would see her father read from often. She mentions making notes of the chapters she would like to have read at her funeral, which set me up to look for the ones I would like for myself. While considering the best edition of this book to purchase,

Great, easy to read translation and wisdom even us lay Westerners can interpret. This one accompanied me when I moved to Beijing.
