What Members Thought
Can't get this story out of my mind. Prejudice and loyalty and an uncanny will to protect your children and survive amidst horribly twisted beliefs. This book tells a story that exemplifies the worst and sometimes the best in human character. We would like to look at southern prejudice as a thing of the past but I found this story to be universal. The characters are complicated and have a strong attachment to the land that keeps them from living openly in a bi-racial relationship. It exemplifies
