Oak Ridge, Tennessee was formed by the f=government for a secret purpose during World War 2. Many of the people working at the site were women from various backgrounds. This book tells the stories of several of these women. I knew nothing about this part of creating the atomic bomb so I was interested in learning about the period in history. So interesting to learn about the originally "secret" new little town of Oak Ridge, Tennessee--which was thrown up by scratch almost overnight during WWII, becoming a city of over 75,000 residents. All of whom were--in one way or another--working on a secret project to hopefully bring about the end of WWII more quickly.
