This will inevitably draw comparisons to Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl based on its plot of a dissolving marriage, after reading both I find them to be very different in tone. Flynn's tale is of a marriage that could never have gone right, while Harrison's is of one that needed a specific set of circumstances to go wrong. This one is much more of an inner-world study, and Jodi's an incredibly compelling character considering that she's hardly a whirlwind of action. A different sort of play on how pe

Silent Wife is the un-Gone Girl. Both books share certain similarities such as state of marriage in today's America, incredibly faulty major characters, marital violence and story told in alternating husband/wife perspectives. Rest of the story is completely different.

This is a book that used Gone Girl phenomenon to increase its sale and popularity :D And for me personally, The Silent Wife failed to deliver the suspense. The main character is soooo boring and I have nothing to root for her. The narrative is very flat, and even the twist at the end of the book? Pretty disappointing. I still read it til the end just for the sake of finishing this book, but surely I will forget it a few months from now :p Also I read this in the midst of a very bad reading slump
