This was actually a fun guiltless pleasure. I’m surprised at how well done it was, and while different from the movie in some details, gave off that same light and sweet vibe.
I’m not sure I’ll continue with the series (there are a LOT), but they would be great to read on a beach or an airplane.

After reading All-American Girl, which I liked, I was quite disappointed by The Princess Diaries. Mostly, this was because I didn't like Mia. To begin with, it seems unreasonable to me that she would never suspect her father might be a prince, what with her knowing he is a politician (she jokes at one point that he "runs the country") who happens to share the exact same name as the prince of Genovia.
