I realize this wasn't 'sciency', and a little more of a social commentary, but I can say that this book helped to singularly make me less nervous about children taking over my identity. I haven't read many parenting books, but I can say that I found this book fascinating and empowering. ...more

An interesting read about one woman's experience raising children in a France.
In some places it was enlightening and fun to read, other places felt a bit repetitive.
On a whole, this book has a lot of sound advice on raising children to be independent within boundaries.
