This was a really intriguing inspector Wallander saga that transports the reader between Sweden and South Africa in a tale that is based in reality but clearly fictional. I loved the interplay between fact and fiction and this gave the story a really different plot line that took it from being a Scandi Noir story to one that has significant recent historical validity and intrigue. Really moved by the words of character Victor Mabasha on p 312 -
