This reminded me of In Darkness, as Inspector Sejer is more of a supporting character and not the lead. We see most of the story fro the POV of one of the characters, an odd and dark person, as usual in Karin Fossum's series. It was also very sad, showing the uselessness of will versus fate and coincidence. When the Devil Holds the Candle also has two of the most despicable characters ever written. ...more
