Can you love and hate a book at the same time? The first three books of George R. R. Martin's A SONG OF FIRE AND ICE series were phenomenal. A FEAST FOR CROWS is the fourth book in the series, and the author decided he was taking too long to write it, so he cut the book in half and published this one. Because the author alternates chapters while focusing on a single character, he merely divies up half the characters here and leaves the other half waiting until the next book. Second Read (2019 4-stars):
I finished this book the day after the series finale of the show and all I can think is, wow, they really screwed up an amazing story. Even when they had the books to follow, the characters Martin creates are vastly superior.

Awesome!

Martin has somehow made me really like a few of the Lannisters, become a little hesitant towards a few of the Starks. What happened to me?!

I enjoy how he focuses on a the main characters and their journey. This tends to make the story gradually move along, but the details are great.

I am waiting for more action though.
