Second Read (2019):
It is pretty crazy how much happens in this book. If Robert Jordan had written the events in this book, it would have taken 5-6 books. There is only one character, Daenery's, that I really kind of dread and get bogged down during her POV. I hate Sansa just as much as her, but interesting things happen during Sansa's POV, but Daenery's is the sole focus of her POV. I think she is an extremely overrated character, but it isn't a big deal. I think this book is one of the best exa ...more

There's a lot going on in this book. I think Martin really does a good job at personalizing all of the characters! He gives you enough backstory and future ideas that I find it difficult to side with one family or another.
