I finished this in a single day, but that's not an indication of how much I liked it. The followup to The Hunger Games covers very little new ground, so you'll probably like Catching Fire (almost) as much as you liked its preceding novel. I found the plot and intrigue pulled me in, but I still had issues with the writing style and this one felt even more juvenile than the first, for some reason. (I'm guessing if I re-read the first now I'd feel the same way about it but it didn't seem so on firs

As excellent as the pacing of the first book, the second book misfired. The first third of the book is too slow to develop; however, the pacing rapidly increases once the story moves forward. Almost too quickly. The details of the first book are left out of the second book - it is much more in the head of Katniss.

Having become the first couple to win the Hunger Games, Katniss and Peeta must convince the people of Panem that they are happily in love or the lives of their loved ones could be taken from them.
A strong follow up that exposes the corruption in the system of the Hunger Games and the Capital itself.
Well done. Read the series in order, it is a trilogy.

Not as gory as Hunger Games, but far too many girly outfits described. Fashion doesn't bore Katniss as much as she claims. Also, I'm not fond of the cliffhanger ending.
I got this book on a borrow in my free trial of Amazon Prime. Otherwise, I wouldn't have read it.
