This book is disturbing, and left me with a bad taste in my mouth. It departed for all that was the rest of the series and left me feeling hollow. There is enough graphic violence (including against young children), drug use, talk of sexual abuse to make any rated-R movie proud. Hm. I'm not sure what it is about the third installment that made me like it less than the first two, but there it is. Maybe because it kind of fizzles out at the end. Maybe because Katniss is even less likeable now than she was at the beginning. Towards the end I couldn't relate to her at all anymore and I found myself not caring as much as I felt I was meant to. I was much more invested in some of the minor characters - Finnick, anyone? - than the protagonists, so when I finished Mockingjay it

The last book in the trilogy was a great read. I was surprised at the twist near the end and I was appalled to find out the outcome! If you haven't read this series yet, you should give it a chance. Katniss is a formidable character and although she doesn't believe she has what it takes, she has a lot of strength given her odds.
It's fast paced and on the ball and it's hard to put the book down.
