OMG. A satisfying end to the series. Katniss is at her best, her character finally blossoms. True, it's at the expense of other characters, but still a good payoff. There were fewer plot surprises than previous books but plenty of interest nonetheless. Overall, I loved this series.

The strongest part of these books is the characterization and the way all of the characters seem so real which is why it is so disappointing when the two leaders of the opposing factions make no sense and seem to have no rationalization to their actions. Still, the book and series are worth the time if one is simply reading for pleasure.

And a fantastic close to the trilogy, I was worried going into each book that it wasn't going to live up to the hype, but they all do.
Suzanne Collins, thank you for writing a trilogy of books that is engaging and actually ends when it's supposed to! Now, please, don't go and write another book for this series! ...more

Blew me away. One of the best books I've read this year besides Stieg Larsson's Millenium Trilogy.
