Naamah's Curse is a difficult book to review because it definitely had its flaws, but at the same time, I really enjoyed it and want to read the next book. Considering the length of Naamah's Curse, not a whole lot happened. It seems to be a case of middle book syndrome since it wandered off for a while and then eventually came back to setting up the final book toward the end. I started this earlier this summer (though it came out last summer) but the beginning didn't grab me so I left it for months... I read the book in about one day, though, when I finally sat down/laid down to read it seriously.
This was a somewhat, mmm, maybe controversial book. It makes Moirin's views about a parallel strict-Christianity/Islamic like religion very clear. You know, no same-gender sex, no premarital sex, no thoughts about lust, no worshipping animal-like gods, etc. The scenes made m ...more
