It was interesting reading this as we were watching the show. Fun to spot actual parts of the book used, but by and large, the show seems to have taken the book as an idea, and then spun a story away from it, so very little follows the actual storyline.
On it's own, I enjoyed it, but I find the show better in many ways. To compare, it's like the difference between The Shawshank Redemption story and movie. The book is okay, but the movie is incredible. ...more

Odd. Unusual. Off-beat. Tedious. While The Man in the High Castle was interesting at times, it was slow at other times and down right hard to describe... In this PDK alternate history novel, the Axis Powers has won WWII and the United States is divided into 3 parts. In an interesting twist, the characters are reading a novel that looks at an alternate history where the Axis Powers are defeated in WWII.
