That title caught my eye like a fish-hook. After reading it, I washooked. I went on to read the whole sprawling crazy series. I became interested in and studied up on several of the real people Farmer fictionalises, particularly Captain Burton.
Of course, Farmer drifted away from the original plot-lines indicated in this book and wandered into all sorts of non-sequiturs. For all that, I love it.
