loved this book. this really redeemed the direction the series has been going, i think. i love Le Guin as a writer, but the last couple of books, though they had interesting story elements, really disappointed me in the execution and came off quite boring. reading this book, which is a collection of short stories, it reminded me again of Jack Vance, and how both Vance and Le Guin--masters at fantasy--both hit their stride with short stories. an interesting thing to note about this book is that,
