another unfortunate read from the Earthsea series. it's not horrible, and there are some parts in here that are very good, such as the ending, but by and large this book is pretty dull and uninteresting. without revealing too much that happened at the end of the previous book, things transpire in a way that leaves this book lacking in the magic department. Le Guin didnt have to write it this way. almost all of the book transpires with characters i just didnt care about, one of which is new, and

I like the Earthsea Cycle overall; however, I didn't think the content of this book really fit in with the rest of the books.
