I’ve read this book a few times, but the audiobook was fun. I think I might be slowly getting addicted to audiobooks in general. This is the first book in Goodkind’s Sword of Truth series, and it is absolutely a high/epic fantasy story. I’m not going to write paragraphs here to summarize the story – the book is way too long for that. But I will say that Richard (the star, known as the Seeker) is a lot of fun. Although this had a lot of the cliches of epic fantasy I was still drawn in and wanted to know what would happen next. It has some very dark parts, which I wouldn't recommend for younger kids. There were parts that were repetitive, and some that were just too long, but overall I really enjoyed this book and will read the next one. ...more
