What Members Thought
This book read like a high schooler wrote it. A plot devoid of any surprises and full of completely flat characters made for an incredibly long and painful reading experience.
I read the first four of this series in college, along with all of the Robert Jordan's that were out at the time. Whether they want to be compared or not, they are very similar in the "fantasy epic, huge investment of time" category. I liked them but lost the fire to keep up with them. After watching the TV series I became interested again, mainly because my mind kept saying "it didn't go like that!" So I ordered the rest from a bookswap site and waited until I had almost all of them to restart

Picked it up at the library in Naples, Italy and devoured it. There is nothing like discovering a wonderful book that you can lose yourself in. Have read it many times since.
