LOVED THIS BOOK. A very intense read about an alternate universe (I sure seem to be drawn to these kinds of books) where women all have very defined roles, none of which are to be educated, read or work. Offred is a handmaid, and she must have sex to try to create a child for her commander (who is married). This book raises lots of questions about being a woman, a wife, a daughter in society and about religion. Would highly recommend it.
