Whether you read SF or not, Ray Bradbury writes beautifully. His style is dreamy and lyrical, satirical and funny, and at times creepy as hell.
This book is interconnected short stories, rather than a novel in the traditional sense. It describes the imagined human colonization of Mars. Not nearly as good as it would have been if I read this 20 years ago. The commentary is straight out of events unfolding with race relations in the 40's and 50's which I believe is about the time that Bradbury strung these articles out for Strange Stories and other assorted trade magazines. Some of the stories I thourougly enjoyed where as others I was anxious to get through the reading thus my middle of the road score. I was hoping for more.
